Abu Dhabi Vehicle Inspection Centres: ADNOC Locations and Fees

In Abu Dhabi, vehicle licensing is run by the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) through TAMM, and light-vehicle inspection is carried out mainly at ADNOC Distribution's inspection centres. A fresh test costs AED 150, the first retest AED 50 and the second retest is free. Centres cover Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

Primary sources checked: 18 October 2026. Test fees come from ADNOC Distribution's vehicle inspection page, which shows no update date. Licensing rules come from the Abu Dhabi Mobility licensing directory and TAMM's Renew Vehicle Registration service.

Abu Dhabi inspection at a glance

  • Licensing authority: Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility). Transactions run through TAMM with UAE PASS and an active traffic file.
  • Main test operator: ADNOC Distribution. It says it runs more than 30 inspection centres across the UAE, some open 24 hours, all authorised by the relevant authorities.
  • Test fees: fresh test AED 150; first retest AED 50; second retest free; comprehensive test AED 350.
  • Renewal fee: AED 350 for a private light vehicle, paid on TAMM after the test.
  • New cars: exempt from inspection for three years from the date of registration, according to TAMM.

Which test to ask for

For a routine renewal of a car outside its exemption period, the fresh test is the standard choice. ADNOC also advertises a comprehensive condition test at AED 350 for used-car assessment. That is a different purpose from the required registration inspection. Tell the centre what the test is for, such as renewal or a change of owner, and confirm the test type before paying.

ADNOC's page does not publish an appointment rule. Check timings and locations in its station finder or app; its page refers registration-fee and timing questions to the traffic department.

Additional branch checks on 19 October 2026 used ADNOC's locator and Emirates Transport's May 2026 inspection-network update. Inspection hours and registration-counter services are separate checks.

Other inspection sites and heavy vehicles

ADNOC's locator includes an inspection service at Al Masaood Automobiles on 31st Street. Emirates Transport names Al Faya in its heavy-vehicle inspection network. The former Auto Central inspection claims have not been reconfirmed; a workshop listing is not proof of a statutory testing lane. Use the Abu Dhabi centre map and list for branch details, or the ADNOC filter for its listed inspection sites in other emirates.

After the test: renewal

TAMM requires the inspection and insurance to be complete before you apply, and any restrictions on the vehicle record to be cleared. TAMM estimates six minutes for the renewal service once its requirements are met; this is not the time needed for insurance, inspection or clearing restrictions. If the registration expired more than a year ago, the ownership issue fees are added. The Abu Dhabi renewal guide covers the renewal steps and fees for common vehicle categories.

Before you go

  • Bring the vehicle, your Emirates ID and the vehicle registration card.
  • Arrange insurance before the renewal; TAMM checks it before accepting the application.
  • Use the pre-test checklist to spot problems with lights, tyres, warning lamps and leaks.

Abu Dhabi inspection FAQ

Can I get an Abu Dhabi car tested in Dubai?

RTA's booking system accepts plates from other emirates, but renewal of an Abu Dhabi registration happens on TAMM. Ask TAMM before relying on a test from another emirate for an Abu Dhabi renewal.

What happens if the car fails?

Repair the listed defects and return. ADNOC charges AED 50 for the first retest and nothing for the second. Ask how long the failed result stands; see retesting after a fail.

Is there a 24-hour centre?

ADNOC says a few of its centres operate 24 hours. Check which ones in its station finder before travelling at night.
